Joe , I envy you you your retirement . I'm just getting product to
market so may finally have a job to retire from .
Anyway , I see you remain a Heartland board member .
And a friend .
I continue to feel there would be great value , given the physicists
who will be assembled at the October conference , in a panel or
session nailing down the most essential , non-optional
quantitatively testable classical physics .
I consider it extremely courageous ( or naive ) of you to have
invited me to speak at ICCC9
.
But that remains the best presentation of the most basic general
computation of radiative equilibrium I know of -- and it
remains too poorly understood by both sides in the debacle .
I've attached a recent note to Steve Milloy who I happened to hear
give a great rant at the Exxon Annual Meeting which I was listening
to because I have a little stock in it .
I very much appreciate Will Happer's kind comment on
the recent email exchange I CCed him on because W. A. van Wijngaarden
& W. Happer was mentioned . It's now my current bathtub
reading . I've gotten to about page 10 . Equations (24) & (25)
look like they say about what I said but at a much deeper level of
detail .
Heartland is assembling an unmatched group of competent physicists .
I think you may know that my acing the brilliant PSSC
high school experimental physics course but then not continuing in
the field and only later learning , aided by APL , quite a lot , if
a rather idiosyncratic collection , of math factors into my
focus on that core level -- even for the average conference
participant .
It needs to be shoved down K-12's throat -- and anybody's claiming
to have ` science on their side .
I think a session aimed at developing such a curriculum could make
considerable progress on clarifying the basics at a basic level .
And even make progress on Cork Hayden's 1 model :
of planetary temperature .
And pushing the notion of a Ritchie
Prize for
" for
best "YouTube" quantitative experimental
test of any of the non-optional classical physical
computations
necessary to get from the Sun's output to our mean surface
temperature " .
Thing is , tho exposure for CoSy's
unique next-gen capabilities , indeed total relationship
with one's computing resources , would be valuable , I can't divert
my time from its direct development and marketing without funding
for my time and efforts commensurate to our peers who have steady
fellowships or other such positions with one or another organization
involved in this battle for rationality .
Properly preparing for any form of presentation would take at least
several days if not a couple of weeks .
I'm approaching you , because now as an elder statesman your view is
across the greater ` market .
I think attacking the roots is long overdue . With Will Happer and
others who will be there , a classical testable foundation can be
laid leaving very little variance for the tiny changes in our
spectrum and therefore global mean temperature for the source of the
carbon which makes up half our ` mummy weight to explain .

It is sad to see XOM knuckle even a little to the most
destructive anti-science global statist cult demonizing the very
building block of all life which is so spectacularly GREENING the
planet .
Now listening to Woods , he just lost my trust and confidence . I
had not realized the abject submission to the eKo-crapitalist Global
State was so complete . Waiting for a mention of nuke . Did
I miss something ?

If the eKo-fascists were serious about anything other
than creating the scarcities enabling gatekeeper tyranny , they
would be pushing nuclear rather than their nature despoiling
economically unsustainable Rube Goldberg schemes .
I'm really pushing to have Heartland in October when they have
such competent physicists assembled hold a panel on the most
basic classical physics , ie: the basic testable equations for
heat transfer and energy balance , which can form a high school (
and undergrad ) experimental physics curriculum .
Most importantly , it must include Newton's universal Law of
Gravity and the adiabatic tradeoff with kinetic energy which
quantifies how much hotter the bottoms of atmospheres are than
their planet's radiative equilibrium . Nothing to do with GHG
spectra .
