==========

08:25 --- Chairman's Welcome --- George Perry

==========

08:30 --- Pthreads under Gforth --- John E. Harbold

==========

08:50 --- Declarative, Inquisitive, then Imperative: Seven Years Later
                                                                                               --- Samuel A. Falvo
     "
The DItI method of programming has allowed me to tackle sophisticated
programming challenges in Forth that, traditionally, I'd've wanted to
use a different programming language for.  In this talk, I will
discuss what DItI is and provide examples to illustrate its value.  As
time permits, I also will discuss problems frequently encountered
while using DItI, and propose changes to the Forth virtual machine to
try to tackle these problems."

==========

09:15 --- Insight of esp32eForth --- Chen Suan
Sam will describe and demonstrate this token-threaded Forth.
http://www.forth.org/svfig/kk/09-2017-Chen.txt

==========

09:40 --- Forth Haiku Vision --- Brad Nelson
Forth Haiku now has eyes!  Use your laptop or cellphone camera and a few simple words to transfigure a live video feed.  Imagine the possibilities: from fun-house mirrors, to image filters, to interactive art.

==========

10:05 --- Break --- Order Lunch
Make sure your lunch order is entered by the end of the break or you'll go hungry!

==========

10:15 --- Standalone FIG Forth on a PDP-11 Hard Disk --- Paul Hardy

Paul will describe how the standalone floppy disk version of PDP-11 FIG Forth, reconstructed in early 2017, has been updated to a 10 Megabyte RL02 hard disk image.  The disk image runs in common PDP-11 simulators.

==========

10:45 --- There's Forth in That --- Leon Wagner, FORTH, Inc.

Leon will give an overview of some current commercial and industrial Forth applications that use SwiftForth (on Windows, Linux, and macOS) and SwiftX for embedded systems.

==========

11:15 --- Compile-time Execution / Parse-time Execution? --- Andreas Wagner
     Andreas will describe Parse-time Execution, an alternative to forth recognizers that decomposes and decentralizes the outer interpreter into the word headers for expressive pattern matching.

==========

11:45 --- The Control Loop in Mitochondrial DNA --- C.H. Ting

"There is a stretch of about 1000 base  code in mitochondrial DNA which does not code for any protein. I believe this stretch contains the secrets of genetic programming, which controls the growth and division of cells. I do not understand the code, but like to share some of my observations. I also believe that if God picked a programming language for genomes, he would surely pick Forth for its simplicity and expressiveness."

==========

12:15 --- Lunch
We'll have lunch catered by The Treehouse.
http://treehousestanford.com/

==========

13:15 --- GreenArrays Talks

==========

===========

     Do we stick to the schedule?  Yes, that is the goal.  Forth Day is no exception.  Remember, though,  schedule slip is sometimes unavoidable.  Sometimes somebody runs a little long or short.  We've had speakers who just didn't show up.

     Once in a while we shuffle things around.   This is not done casually, maliciously, or for the amusement of the Program Chairman.  Really,  you can believe what you want.  We've heard the rumors.  Many of them are completely unfounded.

      If you're desperate to see a particular thing at a particular time please mention it and we'll try to accommodate you.
