Senator Barbara Boxer laid down the gauntlet yesterday for imposing a cap-and-trade system in the U.S. Many see the new strengthened Dem majorities as an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the U.K. and EU and their commitments to reduce GHGs under Kyoto Protocol. By the way, how’s that working out for them?
 
 
We’ve discussed repeatedly at this blog the eco-zealotry and moral panic that drives so much of global warming alarmism. It should be noted that concern for the environment does not automatically require one to believe in global warming, or that if the planet is warming that humans are the cause, or that if humans are causing global warming there is not necessarily a strong case for wrecking our economy in search of a cure.
 
After thinking about this for a while, it strikes us that a keen observer will note some strong similarities between the now-defunct moral panic over obesity and global warming hysteria. Read all about the similarities here…
