    * Watts Up With That? Goes Quarter-Mil … congrats!
    * More Watts Up With That?: “Most other natural sciences are stuck in the old and outdated practice of questioning forecasts when actual observational data diverges from the forecast by several standard deviations. Not so modern, enlightened, consensus-based climate science.”
    * The fight over 2008 temps heats up
    * Will they succeed in forcing Kris Kringle to go green?
    * WSJ’s blog: “A different question altogether is whether Team Obama’s energy and climate posse will be enough to overcome all the hurdles facing a wholescale reinvention of the energy mix of a coal-dependent nation that’s now smack in the middle of a recession.”

Last week saw the snowiest December that Las Vegas has ever seen. Officially, 3.6 inches of snow was recorded.

Thanks to the Business and Media Institute for this report:

“CNN Meteorologist Chad Myers had never bought into the notion that man can alter the climate and the Vegas snowstorm didn’t impact his opinion. Myers, an American Meteorological Society certified meteorologist, explained on CNN’s Dec. 18 “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that the whole idea is arrogant and mankind was in danger of dying from other natural events more so than global warming.

“‘You know, to think that we could affect weather all that much is pretty arrogant,’ Myers said. ‘Mother Nature is so big, the world is so big, the oceans are so big – I think we’re going to die from a lack of fresh water or we’re going to die from ocean acidification before we die from global warming, for sure.’”

As part of his person of the year interview with TIME magazine, President-elect Barack Obama says of climate change:

All the indicators are that this is happening faster than even the most pessimistic scientists were anticipating a couple of years ago

That doesn’t bode well for good science or good policy.

Thanks to our reader George M. from California, who dropped this note in our basket:

“Where the HECK HAVE YOU BEEN!!!??? I had no idea that such a great and logical effort was being made to fight the insanity of the man-made global warming claims. I have you on my FAV list now and have signed up for updates. Thank you for being there.”

Kind words we’ll take. Arrows we will suffer. Just keep talking about these important issues!
