Glad We Didn’t Ratify Kyoto: Europe, Japan Face $46 Billion Global-Warming Penalty…The Governator: ” Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has instructed state agencies to prepare for climate change, especially rising seas, as they plan to replace, upgrade and repair the system of pipelines that distributes water around sewage treatment plants and low-lying airports, among other things.”…Sadly, We’re Not Surprised: “When oil prices soared, consumers didn’t just feel it at the gas pump. They felt it at the airport, the florist, even when they got their kitchen sink fixed, as businesses added fuel surcharges. Now, with crude down more than 50% since July, it’s only natural to assume the surcharges are on the way out, right? Wrong.”…Latest Global Warming Victim: Bird watching in the UK … when will the horrors end?”…Timely Economics Reminder: “The government cannot create wealth or jobs; all it can do is take from Peter to pay Paul, opening up a job in ‘green industry A’ by eliminating one in ‘fossil fuel industry B.’”

Lots of comments last week on this post, which came courtesy of Chris Horner at CEI. Could be that the Climate Change Science Program head isn’t as qualified as he says…

If global warming is occurring, this would be good news:

“Scheduled shifts in Earth’s orbit should plunge the planet into an enduring Ice Age thousands of years from now but the event will probably be averted because of man-made greenhouse gases, scientists said Wednesday…”

Hat tip: Marc Morano.

Who wins in the war of endangered species versus an endangered humanity? Shockingly — oh so shockingly — humans win this round in the Supreme Court.

Well, that’s really just meant as a humorous intro to the news that Virginia gov. Tim Kaine will make climate change his top concern for the coming year. The coming year just happens to be his last in this office while he looks for another political post.
