We need to talk to our lawyers, for instance= =96 how will this=A0affect the current =93catering license=94 loophole? > >=A0Details from the New York Nightlife Association website:= http://www.nyna.org/issues.html =A0Make sure you read the=A0key= provisions i..e. venues will become responsible for not only= what goes on inside the venue, but what goes on=A0outside on the= sidewalk, cleanliness, unruly =A0drunk/disorderly patrons =A0etc.= (we knew this was coming on the heels of=A0the smoking ban.) also= it says venues will require a =93certified=94 sound engineer to= ensure compliance with the 90=A0decible level. Not sure what= =93certified=94 means, union maybe? =A0Primary violations appear to be= aimed at noise=A0violations and violence, but if you get three or= more, the club gets permanently padlocked. =A0Nothing= changes=A0regarding dancing regulations. If its illegal to dance= at a venue, it remains illegal. Not sure what =93padlock= violations=94=A0means either, but probably drugs, health code etc. > >=A0More info from the Post=92s Page Six/Richard Johnson 1/30/04 >=A0http://nypost.com/seven/01302004/gossip/pagesix.htm =A0Major= clubowners are really freaking. > >=A0And also on the issues page of NYNA (item #2) a related issue= is the push for the employment of off duty police=A0officers to= patrol in front of bars and restaurants,. Just another reason to= get out of NYC!! > >=A0Oddly enough, the home page of http://www.nyna.org =A0has been= hacked and defaced by the =A0TRHackPortal=A0Warriorz!!!! > >=A0Please forward to events planners, promoters, club/barowners= etc. and have people get involved with local=A0community board,= City Council etc. > >=A0Peace all. >=A0Suzi Miles > >=A0\OM NAMO NARAYANAYA > >=A0=93 =93But I don=92t want to go among mad people,=94 Alice remarked. >=A0=A0=93Oh, you can=92t help that,=94 said the Cat: =93we=92re all mad here.= I=92m mad.
