Arm Yourself For Freedom

I just watched an important new film, =93Innocents= Betrayed=94. It describes with graphic footage the horrors and carnage which governments= around the world have inflicted on their people, like in the former Soviet Union,= Germany, China, Turkey, Uganda, Rwanda, Cambodia and others, when their citizens= have allowed themselves to be disarmed. Governments which intend to murder= their citizens always begin by disarming the population. That is why it is= suicidal to support gun control and suicidal not to keep a weapon for self-defense,= and suicidal to leave your family and neighbors defenseless against murderers, be= they criminals, terrorists, or renegade police. Last year I discussed= an idea for a =93New York City Militia=94, where homeowners and tenants would= voluntarily keep weapons in their homes in case of a terrorist attack or riot, or= if by some terrible fluke our government becomes tyrannical. If you think= about some of the things which have happened in this country it=92s not out of the= realm of possibility. A militia would be great, but I suggest that= everyone who can obtain arms, pistols or rifles, do so =93illegally=94 if necessary,= for self-defense and community defense. It=92s actually not illegal, since the= Second Amendment guarantees us the Right to Keep And Bear Arms. I certainly intend= to obtain arms, by illegal means if necessary. If a law is immoral and also= evil, it must be resisted. If we do not learn from history we are bound to= repeat it. Our Founding Fathers specifically included the Second Amendment to= prevent these sorts of genocides and tyrannies; they were all too familiar with= kings and dictators. Our Constitution may not have been perfect but it is= the greatest living work for freedom ever created. We should honor it by= respecting its teachings and ensuring its legacy of freedom never= perishes.
