 With the example the City has set making a fortress out of the=
 entire
 region from Worth Street on the north , Centre Street on the=
 west ,
 Saint James Place ( aka Water , aka Pearl ) on the east , and
 the Brooklyn Bridge on the south , cutting off the diagonal=
 routes
 thru region , funneling all Water Street traffic thru Chatham=
 Square
 at the base of China Town , causing hours of traffic jam every=
 day ,
 it's a little late to start being concerned about affecting
 everyday life . 

 What the hell , lets just close off Broadway at Canal .
