 I don't really want to go over to yet another ( sparsely 
  populated ) "GeneralizedCrap" mail group to continue a
 discussion when all the apparently interested parties are
 "right here" .
 
 The (OT) convention seems to work pretty well . You can
 filter with your eyes .  And failing that , junk filters
 are real useful .

Incidentally , Preston's group has a far higher portion of
 forwarded news and announcements to philosophical
 cud chewing than this group .
