Dear Senator McConnell ,

 I have long appreciated your often lonely stand for free market
 rationality in campaigns . On my website at

 you will find an email I sent you in support of your defense of
 the First Amendment back in September 1997 .
 

 Please don't destroy the esteem I hold for you by opposing the
 inclusion of the "Freedom of Press" argument by the 
  http://realcampaignreform.org people . 

 Their argument is logically very powerful and to suppress it
 raises doubts in my mind whether the years have worn down your
 clarity of vision on this most fundamental of our freedoms .

 Please display your youthful vigor and let all the arguments
 for the freedom of the market place of political ideas 
 flourish .

 The welfare of our country itself depends upon it .
