 Goldwater was a libertarian altho the term was not in
 common usage . When he died I remember FOX commentators
 being mystified by how this paragon of "Conservatism" could
 believe in gay rights and be against the drug war . Their
 knowledge was so shallow that they thought he had changed in
 his old age rather than that the Republican party had .

 I don't understand why Greg continues to hang around this group=
 .
 I have a brain damaged brother and have come to accept no=
 forward
 progress from one year to the next . He will never be able to=
 add
 two 2 digit numbers and get the same answer consistently .
 Greg seems incapable of understanding that collective force=
 simply
 cannot be more charitable much less as intelligent as=
 individuals
 solving their mutual difficulties of existence thru cooperative=
 /
 competitive individual decision making . He parrots the false
 "chicken in every pot" "rights" foisted by FDR and repeated in=
 the
 UN charter to physical necessities which no-one can assure and=
 the
 suppression of the application of individual intelligence and
 action to tens of thousands of pages of regulations backed by=
 guns
 and gulags has so conclusively failed to provide .
