I did not know that you are the Drugs Affairs Director for= the Lib party. That's good to know actually, just ror reference sake.= There's times I need quotes on one thing or other, and sometimes find myself= thinking, "hmmm, who to talk to, who to ask for an opinion..." and now I= have another source for those sorts of quotes. I'm sure there might be other= reasons to call/write too. Washington Journal has been one of my favorite shows for= years now. Sometimes I'll switch over to Democracy Now at 9, but not too= often and I'm glad I didn't today. I didn't have much in mind to say this= morning, but saw an opportunity to plant a seed, both for DrugWar.com and for= awareness of the need to end the War on Some Drugs and Users itself, so I= grabbed it. The phone rang at C-Span repeatedly this morning too, in that I only= got a "the phone yer trying to call is busy" message a couple times, and got= the phone there to ring through until it stopped trying 3 times, with= C-Span picking up the phone finally on my 4th attempt. But it did ring, which= doesn't often happen. Anyway, thanks for the word, glad that someone I know heard= me on live. I'm sure we'll bump into one another sooner or later. Are you= going to the June 4th Hip-Hop protest at Foley Square, put together by Russell= Simmons and I think the William Kunstler Defense folk, to protest the= Rockefeller Drug Laws (see below)? Peace, Preston >From Anthony Papa (www.15yearstolife.com) - Pressure is on as New York's Governor George Pataki's Criminal= Justice Director, Chauncy Parker met with Hip Hop entrepreneur Russell= Simmons yesterday trying to prevent him from launching the biggest drug= war rally in the history of the movement. Plans are being made for "Countdown= to Fairness" a June 4th protest at Foley Square in NYC. Over two= hundred thousand are expected to attend. Public radio announcements by= leading Hip Hop artists are filling the air waves. A full media press is= beginning bringing in the entertainment world to join us in our struggle.= Also, planned is a call for teachers to educate students about the= Rockefeller Drug Laws. Join Russell Simmons, Andrew Cuomo and many Hip Hop= stars on June 4th at 2pm. For more information about the event or for your organization to= join our coalition you can contact Andrew Cuomos' office at 212-981-5265= or email ashley@andrewcuomo.com or read more about this at= www.15yearstolife.com <]=3D--------------------------------------------------------------= ---------=3D[ > [ Moderated by: Preston Peet | ..drugwar.com ] | -=3D/[ To Subscribe: drugwar-subscribe@mindvox.com= ]/=3D- | | To Unsubscribe: drugwar-unsubscribe@mindvox.com | [ DrugWar List in Digest Format: ugwar-digest-subscribe@mindvox.com ] <]=3D--------------------------------------------------------------= ---------=3D[ > ----- Original Message ----- From: Bob Armstrong To: Preston Peet Sent: Friday, May 16, 2003 9:59 AM Subject: Just heard you on CSPAN Preston , Your name and skinniness came up at a party on Wooster Wednesday= .
