 I believe cigarettes were called "Coffin Nails" at least since=
 WW2 .

 Certainly the initial linking of excessive smoking with cancer=
 was
 common knowledge at least by the mid `50s when I was a kid .

 Anyone who believes Government Science now days is deluded .

 When I was growing up , I had great respect for the National=
 Science
 Academy and the National Institutes of Health , etc . But they=
 have
 become unreliable political tools .  It saddens me a great deal=
 .

 The large number of very old cigar smoking men is prima facie=
 evidence
 that that level and manner of tobacco usage is not deadly .
